June 30, 2010 - Dallas Love Airport

We checked out the Dallas Love Airport CNG station. This is a modern Clean Energy Fuels station, which is open 24/7 and takes major credit cards. I enjoyed speaking with the ATT CNG van operator, who was filling up at the same time. He too, is satisfied with CNG fuel.

June 30, 2010 - Dallas DFW Ground Transportation Management

Dallas, TX is a great city for CNG vehicles. We called on the operators of Yellow Cab, Cowboy Cab, Taxi Dallas, Executive Taxi, Golden Taxi, City Shuttle, and Diamond Taxi, McShan Florist (a CNG van fleet operator since 1991), the ground transportation managers at DFW Aiport (this picture), and DFW SuperShuttle. These folks all know a lot about CNG and are pursuing strategies to implement clean fuel vehicles.

June 29, 2010 Hello Dallas, TX

Our first stop, after leaving Austin, was the Dallas Fort Worth Airport CNG station. This is a large and well utilized Clean Energy Fuels station, with plenty of room for all sizes of CNG buses and vans. As you can see, it had been raining, but no problem for us, with the large covered station canopy. 'Easy access and no lines. We traveled 295-miles and had 1,500 PSI, or slightly more than 1/2 tank remaining. Filled up with 19.5 GGE & 3,600 PSI, costing $41.50. Open 24/7. Takes credit cards.

June 28, 2010 - Good Bye Austin - A Great Place to Visit ...

... and a great place to fill up with CNG!

June 28, 2010 - Texas Railroad Commission

Any alternative fuel vehicle demonstration in Austin, TX should include a visit to the Texas Railroad Commission. The Railroad Commission has primary regulatory jurisdiction over oil and natural gas industry, pipeline transporters, natural gas & hazardous liquid pipeline industry, natural gas utilities, the LP-gas industry, and coal & uranium surface mining operations. The Commission is responsible for research & education to promote the use of LP-gas as an alternative fuel. We learned a lot about LP motor fuel and gained great advice and direction from these folks.

June 21 – 23, 2010 Austin, TX - GFX Government Fleet Show - NGVAmerica Booth Setup

NGVAmerica did a great job of acquiring and coordinating a CNG vehicle display area, with vehicles on display by IMPCO/Chesapeake Energy, Clean Fuel Conversions, Honda, and Baker Equipment. Also, working the NGVA booth with us were Advance Fuel Systems, Lincoln Composites, and Faber Industries. Clean Energy Fuels had a booth just around the corner. This picture shows show setup activities.

June 20, 2010 Austin, TX - GFX Government Fleet Show

We pulled into Austin, TX for the GFX Government Fleet Show. Our van was parked outside of the Austin Hilton, showing off its LED lighted signage. This is valuable to taxi and shuttle operators, who sell retail sign space, especially in the airport markets. The roof top sign revenue, associated with our CNG tank top structure, can help to offset the CNG conversion cost.

June 20, 2010 Austin, TX - Clean up Before the GFX Government Fleet Show

It's amazing how many bugs molded themselves to our CNG van, along the way. Definitely needed a major van wash, before entering the Austin, TX - GFX Government Fleet Show.
